Harrogate & District League Cup Final Vs Glasshoughton Welfare. After a very close first half with a couple of half chances to both teams the scores were level 0-0 at half time. Five minutes in to the second half Joshua Debenham broke clear of the Glasshoughton defence to curl a left foot shot in to the top corner. Ten minutes later and after a couple of good saves from Will Morrell, Johnny Holmes went flying down the wing, cut inside to the penalty area only to be sent tumbling by the Glasshoughton full back. The referee had no hesitation in awarding a penalty & booked the player for the challenge. Under immense pressure Bailey Smithies stepped up & sent the keeper the wrong way to make the scoreline 2-0. Glasshoughton took the kick off & scored within a minute to bring the score back to 2-1. Joe Storey had a great chance to make it 3-1 but hit the post after being put through. The game was on a knife edge with both teams pushing for the next goal & with around 7 minutes to go Joe Storey was once again put through one on one with the Glasshoughton keeper & this time made no mistake by delicately lobbing him from 30 yards. Six minutes of added time made the game a little tense towards the end but the Thunder lads saw the game out and they thoroughly deserved to end what has been a quite remarkable season. The lads have finished up winning a treble of the Bradford & District cup, the Harrogate league cup and League winners
