From The Committee of Thackley Juniors

Dear Coaches and Parents,
We hope you and your families are well and managing to stay safe.
As we suspected, things continue to move quickly so here is the latest update on all things relating to Thackley Juniors.

Conclusion of 2019/20 Season
It was announced yesterday that all grassroots football for this season has concluded and as a result there won’t be any more official league or cup matches until the 2020/21 season. Usually the new season would start in September 2020 but this may be subject to change depending on Government and FA guidance.

Presentation Evenings / Trophies
Despite the season finishing early, we still plan to hold presentation evenings where Thackley Juniors players will receive trophies for their efforts and participation. Clearly, we can only hold these events when it is safe to do so and further details will be announced once we have more clarity on when lock down restrictions will be lifted.

Summer Tournaments
In the event the restrictions on football are lifted in time, the club will continue to provide funding for teams to enter two tournaments in the summer. As it stands, we are still making tentative plans for our Thackley Summer Tournament due to held on 11th and 12th July, but obviously this won’t go ahead if football is still on lock down.

Bradford City Tickets
Many of you will have placed orders to book tickets for the match scheduled on 4th April. We have been in touch with the club and they will offer an alternative date for our players to attend a match when the professional football league calendar resumes. If you have booked tickets and are unable to make the alternative date we will issue cash refunds via your team coaches.
We will provide further updates as and when anything significant changes. Wishing you all the very best,
Brenden, Claire, Jo, Laura, Lee D, Lee R, Mark, Mat and Ronnie.
